At age 8, Derrick Lemon saw his 5-year-old brother thrown from a window to his death at a Chicago housing project. This week, he was sent to prison for killing a neighbor. The sentencing judge said experiencing a tragedy "doesn't give someone carte blanche ... to act like he's above the law."
